About the Author
Robert Ronald was born in Germany in 1926. He moved to Paris with his family in 1933, remaining until the night before the Germans marched into Paris on June 13, 1940. With his family he escaped to Vichy on the last train from Paris, then lived in southern France before emigrating to Cuba in September 1941. After years of adversity his family immigrated to the United States on August 14, 1946, exactly one year after VJ-Day. With Patricia, his wife of over 50 years, Robert and Patricia raised their three children in San Mateo and South Lake Tahoe, California.
